I don't usually get chances where it's socially acceptable to brag about myself, and I usually don't, but I might as well be confident in advertising myself, right?

Let's see... My name is Tom, and my favorite nickname I've been tagged with is "Fypps," which is short for "Finnish-Gypsy."I'm half Finnish-Jewish-Orthodox-Gypsy, and half German-British-ish.

Where many mothers play Baroque, Classical, and Romantic Era symphonies while their cute lil' fetus is in the womb, MY mom played me Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, and The Beatles. Thank you Mom :). My top 5 favorite bands, in no specific order, are Pink Floyd, Gogol Bordello, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and The Beatles. I love TONS more, though. I don't hate any genre of music, just specific performers. Know what I mean?

Um, I draw, sing, write, play guitar, spar, act, and other stuff along those lines. I'm pretty good at all those things, but I'm always trying hard to get better at 'em, you know?

For a career, I plan to make comics, cartoons, movies, records, paintings, games, etc. and to use most of my earnings to fund any other artistic endeavors I have, so I can make sure that my works are of the best possible quality, for all to enjoy and/or scoff.

It sounds like a juvenile and simplistic plan for my life, I know, but have you heard any of my full on plot descriptions? I pack them with all the originality, creative details, interesting, 3-dimensional characters, deep, philosophical and sociological themes, and beautiful, artistic sensory depictions of my intended subject that I can muster. All the while, I always make sure I'm accepting critique, trying to branch out into new styles, and most importantly, always giving my best effort to make each serious piece I create better in every way than the last one, and analyzing every piece I do for things to improve on (doodles, practice works, and shits n' gigg's aside, obviously).

At this point you may think, "Well, he certainly sounds confident, but what's he gonna do if his precious, hyped-up plot is rejected by the publishers?"

My answer is, "Dude, I got, like 9 more."

lol I'm done bragging about myself. It feels so weird.

DO A BLOOD POWERED BICYCLE PIECE. I won't sue or anything, and it's not like you have to go around telling everyone I came up with it. I just want to start an artistic trend, not for fame, but for the satisfaction derived from teaching people to directly convert inspiration into substance, regardless of whether or not it's perfect. Maybe its a bit cocky. Well, I'll admit to being a bit cocky or stuck-up. Shit, call me a cancerous, infestation-ridden whore and I won't argue, as long as I know that someone out there feels more confident in their ability to create because of the Blood Powered Bicycle.

Here's all you gotta do to start:

Draw, paint, sculpt, or write in a way that can't be erased, and put whatever the first thing that pops into your head down first, followed by the second, etc. and allow yourself to be truly random, as opposed to TRYING to be random. MONKIES, NINJAS, AND PIE ARE NOT RANDOM ANYMORE. You killed them, internet. You killed them

So, Yeah. Just pen, no pencil. Just paint, no white-outs. Just slapping on clay, no tearing it off. Erasers and white out are for doing taxes and people with low self-esteem. If you fuck up, convince your audience you meant to do it. make it work without deleting anything. Let the ideas flow onto the page uninhibited by doubt or mental filters. Your ever-frustrating perfectionism will eventually disappear, and you're skills and technique will actually improve faster.

After you're finished, all I ask is that you tag it with the Blood Powered Bicycle logo; the little heart with the pipe connecting to the bike on all my BPB pieces. then post it, and spread the word of BPB, not of me. Teach others to play the song, as opposed to teaching others of the guy who composed the first arrangement.

Have fun

"Let it become what it is."

My Band's On Facebook posted Feb 6th 2010, 8:04PM
Mood: TiredMusic: Allstate songs I'm required to have memorized 2moro
Me and Mikey's Band, The Little Alberts, Now has a page on facebook. It was made approximately 20 hours ago, so there's not much yet, but if you want to stay up to date on our music, that's the place to do it. I'm going to Denver for a few days for Allstate choir, but when I get back, me and Mike are gonna work hard on writing our own songs, and that facebook page is most likely the first place they'll be put. not to mention, we're both visual artists, and a large selection of our artwork for the band will surely accumulate there.

We've gotten 39 fans in less than a day with only an mp3 of us doing Gogol Bordello's Wonderlust King, and we may be amateurs and we may lack decent recording equipment, but we're damn good. And Mikey's gettin his own recording studio set up in his basement, so great things are sure to come, and then be out done by even greater things to come.
